Hiiiiiiiii!

Jeez it’s been manic lately. Cat is still injured and therefore Baggs (Helen) and I are taking care of her horse. I’ve been quite ill recently, my AJRA has been flaring up and because of this I got a fever as well. I’m pretty much over it now I think; I’ve been sleeping a lot so that helped.

I got an offer from Andy Austin to do work experience at his dealing yard end of February to end of March. I went there for an interview on Friday and rode two horses, one of which I jumped. It was amazing! I got a positive vibe from Andy and he said he’d see me in February. I’m considering taking Extra there, mainly because I’d love some lessons from him on her. Also on the 24th of March there’s an unaffiliated championship at Sparsholt for which I qualified (completely unaware, but hey ho haha) and I’ll ride the 1.05m. Nothing big or interesting, but it’s fun and keeps the routine in there until I’m registered with British Showjumping.

Speaking of BS, I need to ask the KNHS (Dutch horse society) for formal permission to compete in England. Then I can register Extra and myself with BS and start riding affiliated and higher shows.

I also need to apply with the BHS for direct entry into a Stage 3 Riding & Care, which is what my German qualifications are equivalent to. Which is great! I’m going for my Stage 4 probably next year, and I want to do a coaching certificate as well so I can teach. :)

If Andy Austin offers me work over summer, I’ll stay in England and work obviously. If he doesn’t, I’ll probably go to NEH (Newmarket Equine Hospital) and do some work experience :) That would be lovely.

I haven’t ridden for a few days due to my illness but I’m riding today. I’m excited :D
